4 Nabbed In Armed Robbery At Long Island Business

Four men are facing charges following a late-night armed robbery at a smoke shop on Long Island.

The robbery happened at around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, in Ronkonkoma, at the Lucky 7 Smoke Shop on Rosevale Avenue.

According to Suffolk County Police, five men entered the store and one, armed with a handgun, restrained the clerk while the other four stole merchandise and cash.

All five then ran off toward Rosevale Avenue.

A short time later, a Highway Patrol officer spotted them getting into a Volkswagen Jetta and followed them.

The car eventually parked in a driveway on Terry Road, where several of the suspects took off running. The driver was quickly arrested.

Additional officers, including a police K-9, were called in and eventually located three more suspects.

The men, all from Wyandanch, were identified as:

  • Albert Diaz, age 22;
  • Angel Argueta, age 19;
  • Vasco Arnault, age 19;
  • And an 18-year-old man.

All four men were arrested and charged with first-degree robbery. They were scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.
